Sophia Grace has joined the crowd!

I know I have taken way too long to update this blog, but here I go...for Sophia and for posterity.

On the evening (barely) of February 10, we got THE CALL...Sophia Grace was soon to make her appearance. We had not shared in this joy of arrival with Delaney and Madelyn...and I was there when Hannah was born, but since she came WAY EARLY...there really was no room at the inn for grandmothers...they had 11-14 medical types in the delivery room ... one team for Jennifer and one for Hannah. ANYWAY...we were very hopeful that at last we could be there for a birth of one of the grandchildren. Kerri called at 11:15 p.m. and said "Just putting you on alert. We are at the hospital and not going home. You might want to pack your bag." Little did she know, MY bag had been packed for three weeks, since the first false alarm!

We were babysitting Hannah for Jennifer and Marcus so really didn't know what to do. I pretended to try to sleep for about 2 hours with no success, so about 1:15 a.m., I turned on the light and said, "I am going to Slidell. You can come in the morning if you want but I am leaving now." We dropped Hannah off at home to a sleepy, probably perturbed set of parents, and hit the interstate.

We arrived at 7:00 a.m. and then waited till around 3:00 for Sophia to make her appearance but it was well worth the effort.

Ryan actually got to deliver his daughter and we were all crying! It was one of those lifetime chances that make you glad you had children so you can feel such pride in them.

Sophia Grace is healthy, and beautiful, as are all our granddaughters. She has two loving sisters who will love her, fight with her, lock her out of their rooms, ... and make her life rich, secure, and full of love. We are so glad she is here!

Our grandchildren have enriched our lives beyond measure. If we get this much joy from four, I am puzzled at why my children do not understand my telling them to have 10 or 15 more! I can't wait to see all these precious ones grow and prosper.
