Meet #6 Grandchild !!!!

On October 30, we got another little punkin' surprise .... Meet Cohen Dean Gray .... weighing in at 10 lbs 6 ozs and 21 inches long. Mom and baby are doing fine...Mom and Dad are adjusting to their new sleep schedule or lack thereof....

I have a more than a few kissable rolls and sweet fat cheeks. Ya'll just be jealous... D-Daddy and Nana got lots of my sugar! I am so sweet !

After hanging out in my shades for 24 hours, I was ready to go home......

Just in time for watching the big game with Dad and D-Daddy .... well, they did most of the watching...

I am really good at de-stressing.... I can do it and smile in my sleep.

Update on Dean: We go to Shreveport on Monday to get the verdict. It will have been 8 weeks and we are hoping Dr. Lillich will start him on physical therapy.

Have a good weekend!

Sunday morning on the lake....

<>

Sunday morning we took a ride on the lake before lunch. What a glorious day!

Is she not just the cutest thing? I love this picture.

This is our Dad's idea of an exercise routine...this healthy stuff could kill you!

Family Pictures from the weekend....

Laney says, "There goes my college fund!"

Lap full of lovelies!

I love fall!

Dean and I have decided that this is definitely some of our favorite days of the year. The weather has been absolutely perfect for the last three weeks. Warm during the day and cool at night, but most days we can just open the doors and windows (I am so glad I screened the porch!). The last two weekends have been just wonderful. Ryan and Jennifer were home with their families and we enjoyed them all! I have pictures and will post them soon. Love to all.

Here we are ... still

OK, OK, OK ... I know I haven't posted since spring, but some computer geek decided that changing, updating, improving the blogger process was a good thing. He should realize once I learn how to do something...don't change it! I have just now finally figured all this out...so those of you who wanted updates, who I haven't been able to communicate with, whose blogs I couldn't access to keep up with you....sorry...CRS is a debilitating and frustrating disease. Maybe we are on the road again.

We have been consumed for the last six months with Dean's foot. Finally the surgery was done on Sept 7 and we are on the "8-week Non-weight-bearing journey". Very frustrating and limiting! Would have been on a bike trip and to Cabo San Lucas and back by now if not for the foot...he really has a hard time with all this and trying to work effectively as well.
Thanks to the friends and family that have visited and helped him make this journey more bearable. He loves having folks around to help pass the time. Jennifer and Marcus have been incredibly generous with their weekends, bringing the girls to visit D-Daddy...thank you. We love you THIS MUCH!

GROSS ALERT!!!!

Kerri, the pictures are for you. The rest of you...just scroll on by.

It has been a journey but we can see light at the end of the tunnel. The bones are straight and healing. We have an appointment later this month and will set the date to get the pin out that holds the joint stationary...then we will look at physical therapy to increase flexibility and mobility and weight bearing. Maybe about the time Kerri's baby comes, Dean will be able to start trying to walk again.

Other than that, I have been going to school and trying to be available to Dean and Jennifer when they needed something (I don't know what I would have done if I had not been on sabbatical), Diane and Bailey have moved to Monroe, Marcus has moved to Baton Rouge (we miss you), and we are still trying to sell the house....had a contract and the lady's financing fell through.

The grandkids are still beautiful (Taken in June ... last time we saw them all ... aren't they precious!),

the butterflies still love my lantana bush,

and we still have the best sunsets on the lake! Come sit, visit on the back porch, and have a glass of wine any day about 6:30 pm!

Sorry it's been so long between posts. Maybe we are on a roll now! Love you all!

New pictures, Kerri ... well, not real new

Yes, children, your father has lost his mind. I guess it's a good thing that we have moved a bunch of stuff to the lake...now he has time to bring the bike in when it gets cold, as well as the plants. The "baby" wouldn't start because it was too cold (we have Bill to thank for that info), so Dean brought it INSIDE to warm up. It did work though, no matter that the neighbors thought we had lost our mind!

Of course the view is my favorite. In this one the moon was still up as dawn was breaking.

The bar will have black granite formica as well, up to the level of the electrical plugs. Above that, on three sides, will be mirrors.

The entertainment center is in the corner and the TV will sit on top.

It really looks a lot different now that they have put up the cabinet doors. I didn't realize I didn't have a more recent picture of the kitchen. Check Jennifer's blog ; she took some too.

There are glass doors on the top cabinets in the buffet. The smaller cabinet to the left in the end of the island is where the ice machine goes. Formica is black granite and goes in on Friday, March 9.

This weekend .... finally got here!

What a week! This was Homecoming Week at DHS and we had something EVERY night. I had three meetings away from school as well. I am glad it is over with...maybe this week will be a little calmer. Still have two ballgames this week.

This is our updated front view.

Jessie is painting the den and halls for us. The color is LATTE and I thought this color came out pretty clear for once.

Dean caulked the back porch and I painted.

Stained the bedroom floor this weekend. Next is set the toilet and the vanities.

This view still excites me. We have planned for five years and now it is about to be a reality!

Kerri, they put the marble around the tub. We are just waiting for the plumber and HOT water!!!!

Lake update

Spent the weekend at the lake. Thanks again, Marcus and Jennifer! D-Daddy couldn't do it without you...I stayed a while but then had a basketball tournament to work.

Went back today and Dean painted the bedroom and bath ceiling. Our next project is staining the floor on the main level. That's gonna be a long and tedious job, but has to be done so we can set toilets, bath vanities and such.

Took some pictures. Harry is finished until we do our thing with the floors and the walls.

This is the bar area. The ceiling is the stained tongue and groove boards.

Got to add the railing when the spindles come in. It will go all the way across the landing.

The ceiling looks really good. We'll have to pay someone a couple of times a year to dust it, but in the meantime.....

Stairs to the lakeside driveway. Tried to make them stroller and wheelchair accessible for our old age.

Added these stairs on the front so folks would come on up to the main landing.
