We have WINDOWS !

Harry has put the windows in the loft bedroom. Parents, you are going to have to watch kids hanging out those windows!

This is our back porch on the road side. Room for four rocking chairs to watch Dean's deer coming down the ridge to the deer feeder.

I know our blog is focusing on the camp right now, but we have such hopes for it to become a gathering place for friends and family. We look forward to making so many good memories and after all, aren't the memories the only thing that we always have enough of to go around....one or two or three for every person!

Update on D-Daddy's

Hasn't changed a whole lot but they have finished the roof joists and are building the porches around the house to support that part of the roof....and I have only been gone five days.

I guess we have gotten to the slower part of building. They are working on the roof and taking it slow. I think Harry is a bit leery of the steep pitch. He has stopped to build the porches "to catch him if he slides of that SOB!"

View from the east side (Vascocu's) with my front door and windows. Same windows in the loft looking out the other side.

This is from the den. Double French doors (no lites) and windows on either side. Fixed glass at the top.

And then there's always my screened porch. I cannot wait for my morning coffee's here!

Pictures of D-Daddy's at D'Arbonne

OK, Folks! Here's the latest tour!

1. This is looking at the back of the house from the deck we built.

2. The view out our bedroom window. What a sight to wake up to, huh? Coffee in bed anyone?

3. Dogtrot hall...designed this way to open doors and get the breezes through in the spring and fall...looking out the door on the street side.

4. Dogtrot hall...looking at the lake.

5. Standing in the den, looking through the hall to our bedroom on the other side. The wet bar is to the right and the door to the left goes to the stairs to the basement floor.

6. Kitchen view ... The door to the stairs is at the far right. Then the fridge, counters and stove. The pantry is in the corner...stole this idea from Ryan's house. The window to the left is over the sink.

7. Kitchen/dining area ... kitchen window to the right and then the bay window area for the dining table. Breakfast in the tree house anyone?

8. Standing in the kitchen ... looking out to the lake.

9. Back porch ... where Dean's outdoor kitchen area will be.

10. Toward the Richardson's house. The wall section is for the outdoor fireplace.

11. The view from the Vascocu side.

12. So what do you think of our retirement dream? Comments please!

D-DADDY'S AT D'ARBONNE .................... We finally got the pictures off the camera. Not so sure how.....

This was taken today. The view is from the road side. There will be a porch downstairs and a wrap around porch on the second (main) floor. Down ...Bedroom/bath on the left, garage on the right. Up...Master bath to left and kitchen to right.

This is from the Vascocu's front yard. Looms a bit doesn't it? You are looking in the main doorway .... dining area to left and den to right on second floor.

This is the lake side. Master bedroom to the right and den to left. There is a dogtrot hallway with a half bath in the center just off the porch.

I can't figure out how to easily use the Kodak EasyShare program with my pictures. When I do, I will post more of a blog.

Changes they are a-happening!

We have put a new floor down in the dining and den. Marcus and Dean are pondering a new career...I told them we would all starve to death! But, really, it looks great, we love it, and Marcus, what we do without your ever-ready willingness to help Dean out! We love you lots...thanks!

The top slab at the lake was poured on Friday. The picture shows the formed up boards for the concrete. Look at that 10 foot deep back porch...am I gonna love that! We will be up there this evening and will send more pictures. They start putting up the walls on Monday! It is now getting time to be excited I think.
